HAZWOPER Training

BDN offers HAZWOPER training to all businesses that require their workers to become certified. The basic requirements of OSHA HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) per 29 CFR 1926.65 include the provision that all employees who work in or where there is a potential for an uncontrolled release of hazardous materials have the training to recognize that an emergency exists and to initiate an emergency response.

Facility employees may need training as required by the EPA Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Part 265 when hazardous materials are stored or used. This is also the basic training requirement for professionals in hazardous waste emergency response and environmental remediation fields as well as for construction crews working at a site of known or suspected hazardous waste. BDN regularly schedules the classes listed and can upon request provide other related courses such as First Responder Awareness, First Responder Operations, Hazardous Materials Technician, and Hazardous Materials Specialist.

8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher

The 8-hour HAZWOPER Refresher is scheduled regularly, and other refreshers may be requested or designed. Refresher courses review and discuss changes in federal, state, and local regulations, developments in state-of-the-art procedures, and a review of key aspects of the initial training course. After completing the annual refresher course, persons shall have their accreditation extended for an additional year from the date of the refresher course.
