Lead Services
Ask Yourself...
Have you identified all sources of lead in your facility? Do you have any renovations planned that may elevate airborne concentrations of lead? Have your employees, who are potentially exposed to lead, received the appropriate level of training?
Lead can be harmful to adults as well as children. Health effects associated with lead poisoning include anemia, high blood pressure, nerve damage, brain damage and kidney disease. Exposure to lead can come from lead-based paint (used in homes and industry), leaded gasoline, industrial releases, soil, food, drinking water and occupational exposure. Lead can become a serious health hazard when it is reduced to dust, chips or fumes.

Health & Safety Services
Ask Yourself...
Do you know what levels of airborne contaminants your employees are being exposed to? Could changes in work processes be negatively affecting the quality of air in your work environment? Do noise levels in your facility require different types of hearing protection?
With the development of the federal Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in 1970 and corresponding state programs, employers were given the statutory responsibility to provide their employees with a workplace free of recognized hazards. Companies are facing ever-increasing lawsuits, increases in penalties and rising workers' compensation premiums. BDN can help your organization feel confident that its responsibilities as an employer are fulfilled. Your benefits include:
fewer OSHA citations, good employee relations, third-party verification/documentation, and a safe workplace.

Indoor Air Quality Studies
Ask Yourself...
Does your workplace have an unpleasant or musty odor? Have employees been complaining of headaches, fatigue or shortness of breath? Is your ventilation system emitting airborne contaminants?
IAQ problems fall into three categories: comfort, acute health effects and chronic health effects. Work environments having bad odors or stagnant air may not pose serious health effects, however, these environments may reduce an employee's sense of well-being which may affect their performance.
