BRENT BASSETT
President
A founding partner and president of BDN, Brent has
observed and acted upon the increasing need for
industrial hygiene consulting for modern business
and industry as it has occurred over the last 30+
years. Educated at Ferris State University in both
industrial hygiene and business, Brent continually
analyzes BDN’s systems of preparing for industry
change, responding to new client needs, standard
procedure, job tracking and costing, and maintaining
client relations over time.
Certified in most
services BDN offers, he is also a current senior
technician with active certification as a certified
safety professional (CSP) and a Certified Hazardous
Materials Manager (CHMM) Master Level. Brent and
Julie Callaway are primary contacts for defining the
scope and cost of new projects as well as making the
optimal assignment of technicians to new projects.
He is generally available in person or by voicemail
in the BDN office when not in the field.
JULIE R. CALLAWAY
Chief Operations Officer
Julie oversees general operations at BDN, especially
technical and quality control functions. She
provides project design, communication and
correspondence for larger projects, supervises field
technicians and reviews standard operating
procedures. She is a graduate of Grand Valley State
University with an emphasis on Environmental Health.
A Certified Asbestos Inspector,
Contractor/Supervisor and NIOSH 582 Fiber Counter,
she is as well a certified Niton Radiation Safety
Operator. Julie spearheads client report formats and
data management, optimal assignment of technicians,
and effective cost proposal generation. Julie and
Brent Bassett are primary contacts for defining the
scope and cost of new projects. She is generally
available in person or by voicemail in the BDN
office when not in the field.
DAVID STEGER
Senior Industrial Hygienist
Having secured a BS in Occupational Safety and
Health at Ferris State University, Dave grew with
BDN and is a seasoned Senior Industrial Hygienist
who interacts closely with the reporting staff,
technicians and hygienists. He specializes in
assessing indoor air quality, noise issues, and
chemical process concerns. He spearheads equipment
calibration, and quality control policy and
tracking.
He is an accredited State of Michigan
Asbestos Inspector/Contractor/Supervisor/Course
Instructor and a NIOSH 582 Equivalency Trained
Asbestos Fiber Counter since 1985. Other
Certifications include Radiation Safety & Operator,
SciTec Corporation, Confined Space Technician Level,
Niton Radiation Safety Operator for detection of
lead in paint. He is generally available in person
or by voicemail in the BDN office when not in the
field.
MARK HOOGEWIND
Senior Certified Industrial Hygienist
As an occupational and environmental and health
professional with a master’s degree in public health
and over 20 years of progressive experience, Mark is
Board certified in the comprehensive practice of
industrial hygiene. He is adept at developing and
managing occupational and environmental health
projects and programs and draws upon both consulting
as well as industry experience.
Mark is skilled in
developing and operating compliance and risk
management programs as well as analyzing regulations
and determining impact. He is proficient at
conducting industrial hygiene monitoring, indoor air
quality surveys and mold investigations. Certified
by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene as a
Certified Industrial Hygienist, his Masters of
Public Health was received from the University of
Michigan and Bachelor of Science from Calvin
College. A State of Michigan Accredited Asbestos
Contractor Supervisor and Asbestos Inspector. Mark
is usually assigned on a project basis through Julie
Callaway or Brent Bassett. |
